Cheesy Pull Apart Bread
I kept setting our pizza oven on fire the other night, so I stopped at half a dozen pies before deciding to save the remaining ingredients for this Cheesy Pull Apart Bread.
And while I’ve never done this recipe with pizza dough before, it turned out better than I ever could’ve imagined.
Buttery.
Herbaceous.
Crisp on the outside, soft within.
And that cheese pull was a major win.
Just make sure to let it all cool down before digging in.
here’s what you’ll need
pizza dough
bite-size mozzarella balls
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp garlic, minced
1 tsp Italian seasoning
extra virgin olive oil
salt
marinara sauce
here’s what you’ll need to do
Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
In a small bowl, melt butter and add garlic.
Lightly drizzle extra virgin olive oil into your cast iron skillet.
Wrap small bits of pizza dough (approximately 2 inch rounds) around mozzarella balls, coat in melted butter and place in a single layer in your cast iron skillet, leaving a bit of space between for room to expand.
Season generously with salt.
Bake for 20 minutes, or until golden.
Add Italian seasoning to remaining garlic butter, and brush the tops of your bread with this mix while it cools.
The bread will be HOT.
Allow to cool completely before digging in, and enjoy with a side of marinara.
