Smash Burger Tacos
When your husband repeatedly hints that he wants to try the viral Smash Burger Tacos, you gear up to make some.
Now I don’t know if it turned out to be the crispness of the shell from griddling these, the outrageously melty American Cheese, or the 100% grass-fed, grass-finished beef from Butcher Box - but I don’t think I want to eat a Smash Burger any other way again.
Seriously.
here’s what you’ll need
1 lb ground beef
6 inch flour tortillas
green leaf lettuce
tomato, diced
dill pickle, diced
onion, diced
Sriracha
ranch dressing
American cheese
extra virgin olive oil
salt
pepper
here’s what you’ll need to do
Divide ground beef into equal-sized burger balls.
Turn your griddle to medium heat and drizzle with olive oil.
Place burger balls on griddle top and season generously with salt and pepper.
Now add a tortilla to the top of a burger ball and smash with something heavy and flat. We used the bottom of a cast iron skillet, which worked perrrfectly.
Once the burger and tortilla are nice and browned, flip. This should really only take a couple minutes.
Add a piece of American cheese and keep on the griddle for another minute or two, or until the burger is cooked through.
Remove from heat and garnish with Sriracha Ranch (made from equal parts Ranch dressing and Sriracha), a piece of lettuce, chopped pickles, onions and tomato.
Fold and enjoy!
