Are you ready for some football?!
Then you definitely need these Garlic Hoisin Meatballs (inspired by Gimme Some Oven) in your life.
Serve them straight up or with a pile of white rice.
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 cup panko
- 2 eggs
- 5 garlic cloves, minced
- Green onions, thinly sliced
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2/3 cup hoisin
- 1/4 cup rice vinegar
- 2 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp cornstarch
- 1 tsp water
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Add ground beef, ground pork, panko, eggs, 3 garlic cloves, 1/2 cup green onions, 2 teaspoons sesame oil, and a healthy pinch of salt and pepper to a bowl to make meatball mix.
Roll mix into balls and place on a baking sheet.
Bake for 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, simmer hoisin, rice vinegar, 2 garlic cloves, soy sauce, 1 teaspoon sesame oil, ground ginger and cornstarch slurry (equal parts cornstarch and water) in a sauce pan over medium heat for a couple minutes until sauce thickens and warms through.
After ten minutes, flip your meatballs and baste the tops with your thickened sauce.
Bake for another ten minutes, or until cooked through.
Toss meatballs with remaining sauce and serve garnished with sesame seeds and green onions.
