We’re big fans of ramen in this house.
BIG.
And while we’re happy to eat it straight out of the packet, we also like to kick it up in lots of ways.
Here are some favorites.

Miso Butter Ramen
- A pack ramen noodles
- 2 tsp chili garlic sauce
- 2 tsp white miso
- 2 tsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp butter
- 1/4 cup hot water
- Green onion, thinly sliced
- Sesame seeds
Instructions
Mix your sauce ingredients.
Cook your noodles according to package directions.
Add your noodles to your sauce, stir to incorporate.
Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds and Sriracha (optional).
Also optional: Top with shaved asparagus for a little crunch and to make it feel pretty.
Roy Choi’s Perfect Instant Ramen
- A pack ramen WITH the flavor packet
- 2 1/2 cups water
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp butter
- 2 slices American cheese
- Sesame seeds
- Green onions, thinly sliced
Instructions
Bring water to a boil and add your ramen noodles.
Cook until desired doneness (this should only take a couple of minutes) and add your flavor packet.
Pour ramen into your serving bowl and carefully crack an egg into the steaming hot broth. DO NOT STIR.
DO gently pull the noodles over the egg as it ‘poaches’ in the broth for a minute or so. I like to pop a lid on mine to trap extra heat because, let’s be honest, this egg will be FAR from poached when you go to eat it.
Add butter and cheese and give it a good mix.
Garnish with sesame seeds and scallions.
Enjoy!
WARNING: Consuming raw or undercooked meats, poultry, seafood, shellfish, or eggs may increase your risk of foodborne illness, especially if you have certain medical conditions.
That being said, if you feel more comfortable poaching your egg separately and adding it after you’ve reached your desired doneness, go ahead and do that. It’ll still be hecka delightful to eat.

- Cashews, crushed
Instructions

YUM.
