Montana's Best Sandwich
For locals, it’s no secret who has the best sandwich in Montana. But for those of you coming from out of state, this is need to know information – so listen up.

The Staggering Ox is a long-time restaurant located in the capital city of Helena, though it’s expanded to Missoula, Butte, Kalispell (temporarily) and Billings over the years.
I’ve eaten at other Ox locations, but have to say nothing quite compares to the OG Helena restaurant that’s been around since the 80s.
The space has more than quadrupled in size, but there’s still so much that’s remained the same – like the neon paint-splattered ceilings, art house vibes and your personal Clubfoot order (pictured) that forever has to stay the same.
It’s a rule.
Sorry, but not.
Don’t know where to begin with their big, beautiful menu?
Here’s a good place to start.
I always get a Ham & Swiss on French plus Tomatoes and Blue Horsies, while Hahn grabs a Turkey & Cheese on French with Ranch.
Take it to go or eat inside, but whatever you do, don’t plan to drive.
At least not while enjoying this massive gripper of a sandwich.
Are you a real gluten for punishment?
(See what I did there?)
Then make sure to leave with an order of bread guts, too.
