Easy Dutch Oven Bread
This ain’t no sourdough.
It ain’t no baguette either.
This is white bread.
And let me tell you, baking bread doesn’t get any easier than this.
4 ingredients.
No kneading.
Some plastic wrap and a Dutch Oven.
Who’da thunk we’d ever actually be real life bakers?!
Whee!
here’s what you’ll need
3 c flour
1/2 tsp instant yeast
1 3/4 tsp salt
1.5 c water
here’s what you’ll need to do
Dump 3 cups flour in a large mixing bowl.
Add yeast and salt.
Give it a quick little mix with your hands before adding water.
Mix again until the water is incorporated, knowing that it’ll still look a bit shaggy at this point.
Cover with plastic wrap and let stand at room temp for 12 to 18 hours.
Pro Tip: Make this before bed so you can bake it the next morning.
Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
Place an empty Dutch Oven in the oven for 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, dump your dough on a floured surface and shape into a round ball.
Re-cover with plastic wrap and allow it to rest for 30 minutes while your pot is in the oven heating.
After 30 minutes, CAREFULLY place your dough into the HOT Dutch Oven.
Add a lid to the pot and bake for 30 minutes.
Then remove the lid and bake for another 15 minutes.
Remove bread from the pot and enjoy!
(Preferably slathered in salted butter. YUM.)
