Sloppy Lamb Sliders
Last summer, we randomly stepped into a restaurant in Fremont, not knowing their ground lamb sliders would change our dang life.
Reminiscent of the tiny Sloppy Joes you got in elementary school, but HIGHLY elevated and extra dreamy.
So of course we had to recreate the recipe, with our own unique take, for you to try, too.
Like a big hug, these Sloppy Lamb Sliders are spicy, sweet and comforting, with big pops of flavor from pickled peppers and fresh pea shoots.
So good, I think you’ll find yourself making these (or at least craving them) on repeat.
And big thanks to Meesha for inspiring this easy, flavorful recipe.
here’s what you’ll need
1 lb ground lamb
1 onion, diced
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 tbsp tomato paste
1 cup tomato sauce
2 tsp Garam Masala
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
1/2 tsp chili powder
1 tbsp brown sugar
slider buns
spicy pickled peppers
pea shoots
butter
extra virgin olive oil
salt
pepper
here’s what you’ll need to do
Drizzle extra virgin olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
Add onion and garlic.
Saute until soft and translucent.
Add ground lamb.
Cook until browned.
Mix tomato paste into lamb and cook for a minute before adding tomato sauce, Garam Masala, cumin, coriander, chili powder, brown sugar, salt and pepper.
Simmer sauce over low for about 15 minutes, allowing it to thicken and the flavors to come together.
Slather slider buns in butter and toast until golden.
Spoon sloppy lamb mix onto bottom slider bun and top with hot pickled peppers and pea shoots for freshness.
Enjoy!
