Ham & Egg Breakfast Flying Saucer Sandwich
Did I go a bit overboard with making flying saucer sandwiches on our Toas-Tite griddle this summer?
Probably.
But you know I had to try making a breakfast sandwich with this thing, and I can wholeheartedly say I have zero regerts because YUUUMM-Y.
here’s what you’ll need
white bread
eggs
American cheese slices
deli ham slices
chives, chopped
butter
salt
pepper
here’s what you’ll need to do
Butter a slice of bread and place it (buttered-side down) on one half of your Toas-Tite griddle.
Pro Tip: If your slice of bread isn’t large enough to cover the Toas-Tite pan, use a rolling pin to roll the bread out and make it slightly larger.
Add a slice of cheese and then ham to the bread.
Crack an egg on the ham, attempting to leave about a half inch border around it.
Good To Know: Some of your egg white might run off unless you can figure out a way to make your ham and cheese into a little cup, but don’t worry - this is just cooking and everything will be okay if it does.
Season with salt and pepper and sprinkle generously with chives.
Top with a second slice of buttered bread (buttered-side up).
Close the Toas-Tite griddle, ensuring the sandwich is centered and the edges of the griddle are fully sealed.
Remove any excess bread that may be sticking out of the Toas-Tite griddle.
Place the closed Toas-Tite on your grill or campfire over medium heat.
Cook for a couple minutes on each side, or until the bread is golden and toasted.
CAREFULLY open the Toas-Tite (it will be HOT), and use a spatula to help remove the sandwich.
Allow sandwich to cool for a couple minutes (the inside of your sandwich will also be HOTTT) before cutting in half to enjoy!
