Apple Brie Puff Pastry ‘Donuts’

Apple Brie Puff Pastry ‘Donuts’

Let’s be honest, repeatedly feeding strips of puff pastry into a tiny hole is a bit of a pain in the rear - but it is SO worth it when you FINALLY get to take a bite of these Apple Brie Puff Pastry ‘Donuts’.

Not to mention they make a beautiful addition to any holiday cheese plate.

Good To Know: I used 2 apples, half a wedge of brie and an entire sheet of puff pastry for four ‘donuts’.

I’m not mad, I just hope it helps in planning. 😂

And big thanks to thelittleblogofvegan for the pastry wrapping inspiration.

here’s what you’ll need

  • apples

  • brie

  • puff pastry

  • flour

  • egg

  • 1/3 c sugar

  • 2 tsp Garam Masala

  • powdered sugar

  • honey

here’s what you’ll need to do

Preheat oven to 400 degrees

Peel and cut apples into thick slices.
Cut a quarter-sized hole in the middle of each apple slice.

Cut brie into similarly thick slices and place on top of each apple slice.

Roll puff pastry out on a floured surface and cut into strips that are about 1/2 inch thick.
Wrap your apple brie stacks with the puff pastry strips until fully enclosed.

Place puff pastry ‘donuts’ on a parchment-lined sheet tray.
Brush tops with egg wash and generously sprinkle with a mix of 1/3 cup sugar and 2 tsp Garam Masala.

Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden and puffy.

Allow to cool before sprinkling with powdered sugar and drizzling with honey.

Enjoy!
