Puff Pastry Breakfast Sandwich
Not a week goes by that we don’t get a message from one of our kids that says:
Make this, pah-lease.
Which is exactly how we came across this awesome Puff Pastry Breakfast Sando from Food Steez that I think all of our kids would agree is bussin’.
Or bustin’.
Or whatever they’re calling something tasty these days.
here’s what you’ll need
puff pastry
red pepper flake
honey
melty cheese, shredded
bacon, quartered
eggs
scallions, chopped
American cheese
here’s what you’ll need to do
Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
Roll out a sheet of puff pastry and cut it into quarters.
Drizzle honey on a parchment-lined sheet tray.
The size of the drizzle is dependent upon how large your puff pastry squares are. Just make sure you color inside the lines.
Sprinkle the honey with red pepper flake.
Place small bacon slices on top of the honey, covering the entirety of the space that you… err, honey’d.
Now sprinkle each bacon square with shredded cheese and cover each mound with a piece of puff pastry, crimping the edges with a fork.
Brush the tops of your puff pastry with egg wash and pop in the oven for about 15 minutes, or until golden and puffy.
Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 5 minutes.
Once puff pastry is cool, use it to sandwich scrambled eggs, scallions and a slice of American cheese.
Eeeee!
